I would like to leave a message for Duke. Perhaps if it’s possible for someone to bring this comment to his and the bands attention.

Duke, I was at the Westbury show on September 12th. Maybe I missed the point; maybe it was part of the act….. I don’t know, but after Peter introduced you playing up your name, I believe the people were yelling ‘Duuuuuuke’ not booing you. As I said maybe it was part of the act and I missed the boat. You looked genuinely hurt none the less. I for one think you did a great job replacing Mr. Geils( maybe even better)!!!

This was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a very long time!!!

For those of you who haven’t seen this band perform live, you owe it to yourself. What a tight band full of energy and great songs!!!

BTW: I was at the Fillmore East on Februrary 1971 8pm show when the band first played there! You were sandwich between two hard rock acts, Sir Lord Baltimore and Black Sabbath……I became an instant fan at that show!!!

Hi Paul, i actually think they were shouting ‘Duuuuuuuuke’. The same thing happened at the first NY State Fair show and Peter Wolf asked “You’re not booing are you?”. The fans yelled ‘NO’.
Thanks for visiting the site :-)
