Info from 1000Dances site: The reunited for one night only. It was a charity show for the Cam Neely foundation for the cancer care. Marty Richards was handling the drumming duties for this show. Marty drummed before for Peter Wolf during the ‘Sleepless’ tour. No Uptown Horns and no backup singers play with the band. As they used smallest amps than usual, J. Geils guitar sounds a little more bluesy / jazzy than before. Seth used a small synth instead of his big Hammond organ. The setlist is mostly based on old material as there are only three tunes from the EMI period. ‘Looking For Love’ is quite shorter than usual. Two versions of this show :

An audio version recorded in the audience. The show sounds quite good. The sound is a little raw as they played in a small hall. The recorder cut some very high end waves making the drums sounding a little dry. The band was playing a little too loud for it. But the sound quality is overall really good. The band is in a good shape. Pete’s voice is a little weaker than before. Marty misses a few beats because of the the lack of rehersals before the show, I guess. But, it’s a very good show. If the story must stop after this show, it will be a great end. But, just hoping the band goes on … A little clean-up of the sound was done by me. This version was uploaded during the month of March 2005 for the Hotline members. In the first days of April 2005, I did a better upgrade of this show as the drums sound better by now.
The video version is an handycam recording. It’s quite shaky. Hey, it’s hard to sing, dance, taking photos and make a movie all together. But, this movie exists and it’s nice to see the band. DK and Seth are as usual on the right of the stage holding the groove with their new drummer. They seem timeless. A rough cut at the end of ‘Give It To Me’. There was also a camcorder set up on a tripod by the soundboard, maybe this recording will appear someday. It could be a recording made by the band, the hotel or someone else. April 2005 : An upgrade of this DVD can be found. It’s the same recording and the same taper, but it’s ripped right off the DVR. The overall quality is slightly better.
