With a lineup including so many of his favorite local acts both classic (Peter Wolf, Hilken Mancini and Thalia Zedek, Chris Brokaw, Bill Janovitz, and Mary Lou Lord) and new (Drug Rug, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, Hallelujah the Hills, Bell & the Bees), we know that the Billy Ruane Memorial Birthday Bash will honor the free-spirited Boston music-scene legend the way he would’ve wanted it: with a crazy, balls-out rock show and joyous, dancing revelry. As of press time, there were still more acts to be announced and the celebration had grown to fill two venues, his beloved Middle East and T.T. the Bear’s.
