Happy Birthday My Man! that guy with the ski at the end of his don’t know how to add,I know your 67! I hope that didn’t hurt your fellings getting older sucks but God made life only one way. It amazed me that your dad went to RPI InTroy,N.Y And was an Engineer at that school.I gotta tell you a real funny story about when you guys played in at Proctors,a friend of mine and me knew you cats were there and were hanging out in the back of Proctors in the parking lot drinking a couple of quarts of beer, well I saw a couple of guy storming up the fire escape to see your show so I said to my buddy David Zimmerman the doors open,Lets GO! we ran up the stair, got in and were watching STIX playing,I though they stunk! But when you band played I and David loved it! and after a set you threw out your guitar pic two rows in front of me and I jumped on it and it had your name on it ,for a young teenager of 17,that was big stuff to me. I drilled a hole in it and put around my neck! I wish I’d kept it but I probably sold it for pot or a six-pack of beer. Any who why don’t you play Ogunqit,ME. Again in the Spring like say in May if you play at The Beautiful Place By The Sea,I’ll Bet there will be a bigger turn out, well happy birthday and God Bless You!

Dear, Funky Fudge, er I mean Judge, Yes that was the one and it was a warm evening as I recall. I got to see the show, quart of beer in hand and saw the show for nothing! If we tried to do that in this day in age we would have been thrown out for sure! My older brother Steve said the reason, maybe that the reason he played in Troy,Ny was because his Dad was an engineer at RPI back in the day. Well to make a long story short my dad took classes at RPI also and when my everloving dad passed away,me and my brother found a report card dated June 5th,1958,well that was the year I was born! My Dad got a “C” in Physical Metalergy ! J. Geils Dad and mine were the same type of guys who could fix about anything. Funky Judge,I alway wondered if J.Geils had any siblings,or was he an only child? It doesn’t matter to me If it is a secret sort of a thing to him personally,as my dad used to say, when he was amonst the living, enquirering minds want to know! P.S.,Sorry about my speeling!

Dear Funky Judge, I went to a concert when I was in my teens in High school @ Saratoga Performing arts Center,it was in the spring of either maybe 74-76. It was a big thing to go to SPAC to see all the great rockn roll shows,I Know for a fact J.Geils Band played there that summer. They played only maybe one set and left the stage and did’nt perform any more. Well everybody went NUTS and became very violent, throwing beer bottles at the stage and hitting Seth Justmans beautiful white grand piano pulling the leads to the lights an damn wrecking everything. I thought to myself what the HELL are they doing to beautiful Instraments like these? Well I have have always heard from rumors that one of the members of the group over doest on drugs and passed out. But i maybe thought there was a family tragity such as a death in a band member family or something of such urgency. could you please tell what really happened at SPAC that awfull concert, I’m sorry, it was in the summer.

if i had a better filing system i might be able to find a cutting or review in a magazine i read about a Geils concert getting cut short for some reason. If i find it I’ll scan and post it here. Remember though it was 75/76.

The band have been pretty good at keeping their private lives out of the media. Except of course Pete’s marriage to Faye Dunaway.
